Stratfor is back to network, after the 'hacking' account!

Strategic Forecasting, Inc. is back to the line of work with their company website after recent online attack from hackers. Yes, it was December 2011 that the strategic intelligence analyst firm (Stratfor) had the blow from hackers, which delayed their site launch and forced them stay offline.

Wilson (from Enigma Marketing) and I had a debate over poor security infrastructure that most of the companies today have that makes them vulnerable to attack, where hackers gain and customers suffer the most.

About Stratfor, the attack (then) took down its servers and endangered vital customer data and information, viz. credit card and other; the details were being abused to give over money for charities.

The compromised account data has already been circulated over to credit card companies, and the FBI investigation is on.

Through the company's website, George Friedman (CEO, Stratfor) took the responsibility of the event, and made an apology saying that the lack of encryption (credit card data) made its customers suffer a lot, which they highly regret about.

He even posted various messages and videos on Facebook to justify (further) the company's stand on this issue, and assured 'fraud protection' to the customers that have had their accounts been compromised by, through the attack.

After the unannounced blow by hackers on their information system,  Stratfor is NOW seriously considering data/information security, and is up to tighten its IT infrastructure, to avert future such instances.
